College Football Week 6 Recap: Louisville Among the 14 Unbeaten Schools Remaining After Upset of Notre Dame

Sam Hartman still can't beat Louisville no matter who he plays for.

Saturday was another wild week in college football as several marquee matchups ended with the higher-ranked team losing, while the Miami Hurricanes will be practicing victory formation every day in practice. The Red River Rivalry lived up to the hype as Doug Gabriel led the Sooners to a score in the final minute to stun Texas. Louisville pulled off the upset over Notre Dame, potentially ending the Fighting Irish's chances at making the college football playoffs.

The Hurricanes had their comeback sealed and were ready to avoid an upset, but ran the ball with 27 seconds left rather than take a knee, which led to a controversial fumble. Three plays later, Georgia Tech scored with 2 seconds left on the clock to stun Miami and hand the Hurricanes their first loss. Washington State was also upended for the first time, as they dropped a back-and-forth affair with UCLA in Los Angeles. USC narrowly escaped an upset bid in a Pac 12 after-dark game against Arizona, in which the Trojans needed three overtimes to get past the Wildcats.

In the SEC, Alabama survived a scare from Texas A&M to hold on 26-20, while the Georgia Bulldogs finally looked like their number one ranking and throttled No. 20 Kentucky. Missouri threw a late pick-six that ended their hope of knocking off LSU. The Mountain West also provided some sparks as Wyoming snapped Fresno State's 14-game winning streak (the second longest after Georgia).
