While it appeared that every top tier team was off this week, there was definitely some action and excitement with two undefeated teams suffering their first loss of the year. The highlight of the weekend came in a rare Group of 5 showdown on Saturday Night Football with Memphis outlasting SMU 54-48 for AAC supremacy.
The AAC has been a great surprise this season and is making the case for their Power 6 argument. They currently boast four one-loss teams and five in this Top 25. With a week of little shock value in the Power 5, next week will ensure that there will only be at most five undefeated teams as LSU takes on Alabama and Penn State heads to Minnesota.
