As for the other coaches, they'll be safe for now, but one thing's for sure, they'll have to win more than a third of their games to remain employed or else risk being cast off as an assistant in the XFL.

North Texas (4-8, 118.8 WP, 65.8 LP)
Mason Fine did not have the senior season he was hoping for as he finished with fewer yards, but a couple more touchdowns, but with more picks, but he answered questions in a dinosaur costume, but he spent his final game getting sacked seven times by UAB. That UAB game was one of four games they lost by six points or fewer, including a six point loss on the road at Cal. Two of those games most Mean Green fans had chalked up as victories, but Charlotte and Rice had other ideas.
North Texas had won 18 games in the past two seasons, but will be without a postseason for the first time since 2016 and they suffered one of the bigger dips from last season dropping 76 spots. Certainly this was not the season they were expecting, but Seth Littrell will have to regroup in 2020 with a new quarterback.

Houston (4-8, 113.3 WP, 23.1 LP)
Last year the Cougars had a sideline fight between star defensive end Ed Oliver and then head coach Major Applewhite. This season, transfer Justin Murphy quit the team (medical reasons) and then put new coach Dana Holgorsen on blast claiming that he was actively trying to tank by redshirting seniors after a 1-3 start. Sure enough starting quarterback D'Eriq King, who accounted for 50 touchdowns in 2018, sat out after the first four games and Cougars went 3-5 down the stretch and missed out on a bowl for the first time since 2012.
That doesn't mean that they were complete pushovers as they were mostly competitive in every game. One of their wins did come against North Texas, so that was good enough to put them one spot ahead.

Ole Miss (4-8, 109.5 WP, 36.5 LP)
It's hard to win a football game and it's even harder to do so when you do dumb things. Elijah Moore had the most talked about celebrations of the year (pictured), but it cost his team a chance to tie their Egg Bowl rival. Instead the Rebels finished 4-8 and Matt Luke was fired shortly after. The Lane Kiffin era was mad official after Kiffin's FAU Owls took care of business in the CUSA Championship. He was previously the head coach of Tennessee for all of one year and served as an assistant to Nick Saban before taking the FAU job.
Ole Miss actually started the season 3-3 despite losing non-conference games to Memphis and Cal. Then came Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M, and of course Mississippi State with one brief moment of relief against New Mexico State. This was the first year they were bowl eligible after being served a ban stemming from the actions of former coach Hugh Freeze. Freeze ended up getting the last laugh as he roams the sidelines of Liberty where he looks to take the Flames to their first ever bowl game this year.
Best Win: Vanderbilt
Worst Loss: Missouri
2018 Finish: 5-7, No. 96

USF (4-8, 107.8 WP, 32 LP)
It probably wasn't a good omen when the Bulls scored just ten points in their first two games and finished the year by scoring just 17 in the final two. Those four games along with a series of beatdowns led to Charlie Strong's dismissal. USF did have an impressive win over BYU and gave Temple and Cincinnati a run for their money, but they ended up losing five of their final six games.
This is the first time since 2014 that the Bulls won't go bowling. Strong actually had a winning record in his three seasons, but at one point he had lost eight straight after USF's infamous meltdown from a 7-0 season to a 7-6 finish in 2018.
Best Win: BYU
Worst Loss: Georgia Tech
2018 Finish: 7-6 (Gasparilla Bowl), No. 71

The Mike Bobo era has also come to an end at Colorado State as the Rams started in a 1-5 hole and lost their last three. They also all their rivalry games against Air Force, Colorado, and Wyoming to post back-to-back losing seasons for the first time since 2011 and 2012.
Bobo was the model of consistency in his first three years, leading the Rams to three-straight 7-6 seasons. However, health issues affected the beginning of the 2018 season and CSU was never able to fully recover.

NCST (4-8, 106.5 WP, 66.9 LP)
NCST did something it had only done once under Dave Doeren, finish with a losing record. That came back in his first season when they went 3-9 in 2013. Things started off fine with a 3-1 non-conference record, but ACC play was cruel, despite being weaker than previous seasons.
The lone conference win came against Syracuse, but they finished with six straight losses, including an unspeakable loss to Georgia Tech. They had four games where they failed to score at least 14 points with most disappointing performance coming against rival UNC. The Wolfpack dropped 85 spots from last season's finish.

The Bulldogs went from Mountain West Champs to completing the largest drop from last season as they fell 107 spots. The crazy part is they actually weren't as bad as their record reflected. They were within a score against USC and took Minnesota to overtime. Fresno State also was within a score against Utah State, Nevada, and San Jose State, but weren't able to overcome and become bowl eligible.
This was the first time the Bulldogs had a losing record under Jeff Tedford, who stepped down this week cutting health issues. This was his fourth season at Fresno State.

Middle Tennessee St (4-8, 102.8 WP, 69.4 LP)The Blue Raiders had people searching their name after they gave Michigan a tough first half in the season opener, but that was short lived and so was their excitement for the season. MTSU gave Rice their first win and were also one of the rare wins for North Texas. Those two loses were by three points and their final game was a five-point defeat at the hands of Western Kentucky.
This is rare air for Rick Stockstill as his teams have made four straight bowl games and haven't had a losing season since 2011. This was also the first time since 2014 that his son Brent wasn't behind center.

For as bad as the 2019 season finished, the Rebels had two pretty big wins. The first came on the road as heavy underdogs when they throttled Vanderbilt. Then UNLV retained the Fremont Cannon over Nevada for the second straight year and have won four of the last seven meetings.
However, the Rebels had two separate four-game losing streaks and spelled the end for Tony Sanchez. He never led UNLV to a winning season in his five seasons with his best season coming in 2017 (5-7).

Purdue (4-8, 87 WP, 41.1 LP)
The Boilermakers did not have any of the magic from 2018 that helped them make back-to-back bowl appearances and instead missed their opportunities in close games. On four separate occasions Purdue was within one score with the toughest losses bookending their season. In the opener the Boilermakers blew a big lead to Nevada and in the finale saw an epic comeback fall short to lose the Old Oaken Bucket in overtime to Indiana.
This is the first time they will not make a bowl appearance since Jeff Brohm took over in 2017. It also marked the first time in Brohm's coaching career that his team has finished with a losing record.
