After having their games canceled last week, Marshall (2-1) and NCST (3-0) returned to the field and it was the Wolfpack who shook the cobwebs off and burst out to a 23-7 lead at the half.
Marshall responded with ten straight points to open the second half, but Ryan Finley's only touchdown pass (a 30-yarder to Emeka Emezie) put NCST up for the long haul.
Finley was 23-of-40 for 377 yards while Reggie Gallaspy II ran 22 times for 81 yards and two scores. The Wolfpack defense forced three turnovers including a pick-six.
NCST welcomes Virginia (3-1, 1-0) next.

In a rematch of the 2013 Orange Bowl, it looked almost like the same game as NIU (1-3) was overmatched by the Seminoles (2-2), but at least this time the Huskies forced four turnovers.
The Florida State defense held NIU to just six yards rushing. Meanwhile Deondre Francois threw for 352 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Noles.
Florida State heads to Louisville (2-2, 0-1 ACC) next.

North Carolina (1-2, 1-0 ACC) looked sharp coming off an impromptu bye week because of Hurricane Florence and the Tar Heels used a 17 point surge in the third quarter to win a wild one against Pitt (2-2, 1-1).
The Tar Heels started the scoring in the first quarter with a 37-yard run by Antonio Williams on a fourth and one. The Panthers answered with an 11 play, 75 yard drive, capped by a Kenny Pickett seven yard dash. That tie would disappear just under three minutes later with another Williams touchdown run.
Pitt would punt and then UNC fumbled before the teams once again traded three straight scoring drives. Qadree Ollison tied it with a two yard run, but Nathan Elliot responded with a 31-yard touchdown pass to Michael Carter. The Panthers once again tied it, this time with a Darrin Hall 65-yard run.
UNC punted and then Pickett found George Aston for a one yard touchdown catch to give Pitt the lead at the half 28-21. The Tar Heels responded with 17 straight in the third quarter to take a 38-28 lead.
The Panthers were able to put a touchdown drive together in the fourth when Pickett connected with Maurice Ffrench from 16 yards out. With 3:12 left, Pitt elected to kick deep, but UNC wouldn't relinquish the ball, picking up a key third and five with the Panthers having just one timeout.

UNC will face the No. 16 Hurricanes (3-1, 1-0 ACC) in Miami while Pitt also heads to Florida as they take on No. 13 UCF (3-0).

The Hurricanes (3-1) rushed out to a 31-0 lead after the third quarter before FIU (2-2) finally scored.
The big surprise in the game is that it wasn't Malik Rosier throwing the ball all over the Panthers defense, but N'Kosi Perry, who entered the game on the Hurricanes third series. Miami coach Mark Richt decided to shake things up and got 224 yards and three touchdowns from his new QB. Travis Homer also pitched in with 114 yards and a score on the ground.
The Miami defense also held FIU to 187 total yards including just 17 rushing yards.
The Hurricanes welcomes UNC (1-2, 1-0 ACC) next.

The Blue Devils are off to a 4-0 start for the second straight year thanks to a gimmie game against FCS North Carolina Central (1-2).
Hopefully for Duke they don't repeat 2017 when they went on to lose six straight before winning the final two to become bowl eligible. Quentin Harris racked up 202 yards passing with three touchdowns and added 34 yards and a score on the ground before leaving the game with an injury. Brittain Brown led the Blue Devils on the ground with 118 yards and a score. The defense held the Eagles to 187 total yards.
Duke will hope to take advantage of a vulnerable Virginia Tech (2-1) that dropped from the rankings this week.
Image result for old dominion virginia tech footballOld Dominion 49-No. 13 Virginia Tech 35
Steven Peoples had 156 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Damon Hazelton hauled in five catches for 154 yards and a score. All those stats for the Hokies (2-1) were overshadowed by the play of back-up quarterback Blake LaRussa, who led the Monarchs with 495 yards passing and four touchdowns to stun No. 13 Virginia Tech.
The Hokies tied the game on a Ryan Willis touchdown pass to Chris Cunningham with 7:15 left in the game, but Old Dominion answered with a 29-yard LaRussa touchdown and then Virginia Tech was stopped at the ODU 21 yard line on fourth down. A 40-yard touchdown run by Jeremy Cox would secure the upset by the 29.5 point underdog.
Starting quarterback Josh Jackson left the game with an injury for Virginia Tech.
The Hokies look to bounce back in their ACC opener against No. 22 Duke (4-0).

Image result for boston college purdue footballPurdue 30-No. 23 Boston College 13
Boston College (3-1) was coming a big coming out party against Wake Forest, but Purdue (1-3) didn't get the memo that they were supposed to rollover.
A week after throwing five touchdowns, Anthony Brown threw four picks and A.J. Dillon was bottled up for 59 yards rushing on 19 attempts. Overall the Eagles were limited to just 229 total yards.
The Eagles will take on Temple (2-2) next.

Image result for notre dame wake forestNo. 8 Notre Dame 56-Wake Forest 27
Wake Forest (2-2) had no answer for Ian Book, who racked up five total touchdowns for the Fighting Irish (4-0).
The Demon Deacons found some success on the ground with 259 yards and three touchdowns. The defining moment of the game came when Wake Forest looked to take an early 3-0 lead, but kicker Nick Sciba was still practicing kicks and had to run on the field and get the kick off before taking a delay of game. It did not end well.
The Demon Deacons welcome Rice (1-3) into town next.
