The Eagles (2-2) forced San Diego St (3-1) to have to make a 50-yard field goal with 1:16 in regulation to tie the game before the Aztecs eventually won.
The two teams were near mirror images of each other in the beginning. Both teams came up short on a fourth and one to open the game and then followed with field goals. San Diego State scored on consecutive drives after the Eagles fumbled, but before the half EMU would pick off Ryan Agnew to set up a Mike Glass III 2-yard touchdown run to make 17-10.
Eastern opened the second half with a Glass 37-yard touchdown pass to Arthur Jackson III. John Baron II would miss a 35-yard field goal for the Aztecs and EMU would later add a 24-yard field goal to go up 20-17 with 3:18 left. Baron would get a second chance after a bogus out of bounds call negated a big play for San Diego St. Baron was true from 50 yards out to send it into overtime.
It took just two plays for EMU to turn the ball over in overtime when Glass threw an interception. Baron would send the Aztecs home winners with a 38-yard field goal.

San Diego St takes the week off before traveling to Boise St to open Mountain West play.

Armani Rogers ran for 181 yards, but was just 5-of-21 with three interceptions as the Red Wolves (3-1) rallied to beat the Rebels (2-2).
Justice Hansen got the game started with a 16-yard touchdown pass, but Arkansas St would miss the PAT. Evan Owens got UNLV on the board with a 41-yard touchdown run, but Hansen would get the Red Wolves back on top with another touchdown pass to make it 13-7 at the half.
A costly fumble on a punt return set up Arkansas St at the UNLV 2-yard line. Hansen tossed his third touchdown of the game, but the two-point conversion came up short. The Rebels bounced back with a fourth and goal run by Rogers and then turned an Arkansas St fumble into a Lexington Thomas 10-yard touchdown run. The Rebels missed their two-point conversion, but still led 20-19.
Marcel Murray put the Red Wolves on top with a 39-yard run and then ran in the two-point conversion to put them up 27-20. Arkansas St could've put the game away when they picked off Rogers, but would miss a 40-yard field goal. UNLV had one shot at coming back, but a costly holding penalty put the Rebels in a 4th and 19, which they could not convert.
UNLV will take a week off to prepare for New Mexico.

Air Force (1-2, 0-1 Mountain West) made a furious comeback in the fourth quarter, but Utah State (3-1, 1-0) was able to thwart the rally and win their third straight.
Darwin Thompson got the Aggies on the board with a 6-yard touchdown run, but with touchdown runs by Isaiah Sanders and Cole Fagan, Air Force took a 14-7 lead. That lead would vanish by the end of the half when Gerold Bright ran in from four yards out and Jordan Love hooked up with Aaren Vaughns for a 43-yard touchdown to make it 21-14.
Thompson built on that lead with his second touchdown to open the second half and an Air Force fumble set up Love's second TD toss on the day. The Falcons responded with a field goal and then Kadin Remsberg scored from nine yards out to cut the lead to 35-25. On the Aggies ensuing kickoff, Savon Scarver was stripped on the return and Christopher Musselman scooped and scored to bring Air Force within three.
Bright put the game away with a 70-yard touchdown run with 6:52 left. The Falcons would drive to the Utah St 16-yard line, but were stopped on a fourth and one.
Utah St will be off a week before traveling to BYU on Oct. 5. Air Force will host Nevada (2-2).
