This game was a bit disappointing. Yeah Brett Rypien put up 380 yards and three scores for the Broncos (2-1), but it was out of necessity as the Cowboys (3-0) built up a 34-14 lead at one point.
Taylor Cornelius threw for a score and ran for two more to lead the way for Oklahoma St. After trailing 7-0, the Cowboys rattled off the next 20 points to help establish early dominance.
There's no doubt points will fly as the Cowboys welcome Texas Tech (2-1) to Stillwater.
The two teams combined for 112 points and 1,067 yards passing, but it was the Red Raiders (2-1) that proved to be the most unstoppable at the end.
Alan Bowman had five touchdowns and 605 yards on 43 completions. His favorite target was Antoine Wesley who had 13 catches for 261 yards and three touchdowns.
The Red Raiders defense was torched by Deriq King for 431 yards and five touchdowns, but Texas Tech scored at least 14 points in every quarter to help outpace the Cougars (2-1).
Texas Tech will head to Oklahoma St (3-0) next.
The Trojans (1-2) jumped out to a 14-3 lead then disappeared for the rest of the game as the Longhorns (2-1) outscored them 34-0 in the final three quarters.
Sam Ehlinger had two touchdowns passing and another rushing to lead Texas to its 900th win in school history. The Longhorn defense held USC to -5 yards rushing despite the Trojans finding the endzone twice via the run.
Texas hopes they can take advantage of a down TCU (2-1) bunch after their loss to Ohio St.
The Horned Frogs (2-1) led the game 21-13 at one point, but it was all Buckeyes (3-0) in the second half as they continued to scorch college football in the absence of Urban Meyer.
Shawn Robinson had 308 yards passing and a score, but had two costly interceptions and a fumble. Two of those turnovers were returned for touchdowns by the Ohio State defense.
TCU got within five, but Dwayne Haskins put the Buckeyes up 12 with his third touchdown of the day and first on the ground.
TCU heads to Austin to face Texas (2-1) next.
Oklahoma (3-0, 1-0 Big 12) was up 24-10 going into the half, but the Cyclones (0-2, 0-1) wouldn't go away to give the Sooners an uncomfortable 37-27 win.
Kyler Murray threw for 348 yards and three touchdowns and had 77 yards rushing to lead the way for the Sooners. Marquise Brown was his favorite target, bringing in nine catches for 191 yards and a score.
Zeb Noland was admirable in replacing the injured Kyle Kempt. Noland had two touchdowns and 360 yards passing, but his interception on the Cyclones final drive sealed the victory for Oklahoma.
The Sooners welcomes an Army (2-1) team who shut down the high flying Hawai'i offense. The Cyclones get the upset minded Akron Zips (2-0) who knocked off Northwestern for their first win against a Big Ten school since 1894.
Speaking of Big Ten schools losing, the Kansas Jayhawks (2-1) continued snapping streaks as they won back-to-back games for the first time since 2011. They also exceeded their win total from last season.
They dropped 400 yards rushing and four touchdowns on the ground with Pooka Williams Jr. leading the way. He finished the day with 158 yards on 18 carries and a score. The Jayhawks defense forced six Rutgers (1-2) turnovers to cruise to the easy win.
Kansas goes for its most wins since 2014 with a trip to Baylor (2-1).
Baylor (2-1) dug itself a 23-0 hole that was too much to overcome against Duke (3-0).
Charlie Brewer had two rushing touchdowns for Baylor. Brewer split time at the QB spot with Jalan McClendon, who threw a pick-six that cemented the win for Duke.
Baylor welcomes a rejuvenated Kansas (2-1) squad.
Kansas State (2-1) avoided any embarrassment by putting up a 41-7 lead on the Roadrunners (0-3) before they scored again in the fourth quarter.
Skylar Thompson threw for two touchdowns and ran for another. His two touchdowns throws went to Isaiah Zuber who had seven catches for 144 yards with half of those coming on one catch.
Kansas St heads to West Virginia (2-0) who was off this week because of Hurricane Florence.
