Well, for UTEP (0-1) fans, their hopes of earning their first win since the last game of 2016 was quickly dashed.
Northern Arizona (1-0) jumped on the Miners early, outscoring them 10-0 in the first quarter before taking a 17-10 lead into halftime. A 13-0 third quarter for the Lumberjacks allowed their offense to take a breather for the final frame.
UTEP has fellow acronym UNLV up next, but the Rebels were able to hang with USC for the first half of football, so it might be another long day in El Paso. Then again UNLV was upset by Howard last season, so there's a chance.
