It was never close in Birmingham as the Blazers (1-0) put up points in all four quarter, and the defense allowed just one completion on 17 attempts with an interception. Spencer Brown had 102 yards and a score on the ground, A.J. Erdely had 228 yards and two touchdowns in the air, while Collin Lisa led all receivers with 93 yards on ten catches and a score.
They will face Coastal Carolina (0-1) who was drubbed by South Carolina in their opener.
The Hilltopppers (0-1) were introduced to Heisman hopeful Jonathan Taylor, who ran for 145 yards and two touchdowns to propel the Badgers (1-0) to a 34-3 romp. Western Kentucky as a team finished with 124 yards rushing.
WKU looks to bounce back with a visit from Maine (1-0).
What seemed like an intriguing match-up, turned out to be a laugher as Oklahoma (1-0) only punted twice and dropped 63 on Lane Kiffin's squad. The Owls (0-1) trailed 42-0 going into the half and were out gained 650 to 324.
They'll look to rebound against Air Force (1-0) next week.
Maybe Houston (1-0) saw the Prairie View A&M tape and decided to nap on their city rival, but Rice (1-1) was not going down quietly taking a 24-17 lead into halftime. Then the Cougars outscored the Owls 28-3 in the second half. Shawn Stankavage led the way with 204 yards passing and three touchdowns with an interception for the Owls.
Rice will head for the islands to take on one of the hottest offenses in college football in Hawai'i (2-0).
The two former MAC foes squared off and the Thundering Herd (1-0) jumped out to a 21-7 halftime lead and managed to score in every quarter.
Isaiah Green had 272 yards passing and two touchdowns, both of those going to Tyre Brady, who had 116 yards receiving. Marshall also held the Redhawks (0-1) to under 100 yards rushing.

Yikes! Old Dominion (0-1) mustered 301 yards and were outscored 38-0 in the second half by Liberty (1-0) in their first game as an FBS school.The defense allowed 591 total yards including 238 on the ground.
The Monarchs were led by Jonathan Duhart, who had 83 yards receiving on seven catches, and Steven Williams ran for the lone touchdown.
Up next is an early Conference USA showdown with Florida International (0-1).
The Golden Panthers (0-1) were outscored 28-14 in the first half and it was enough to lead the Hoosiers (1-0) to a 38-28 win.
The big issues was the (-2) turnover margin. Anthony Jones led the way for FIU with 88 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
FIU takes on Old Dominion (0-1) next.
Southern Miss (1-0) held Jackson St (0-1) to 199 yards of total offense and built a comfortable 41-0 lead at halftime. They also forced four Tigers turnovers. Jack Abraham tossed four touchdowns for 242 yards with Quez Watkins hauling in three of those scores.
Up next is Louisiana Monroe (1-0).
Charlotte's (1-0) run defense flexed it's muscle, allowing -9 yards on the ground. Benny LeMay led the way with 135 yards on two touchdowns for the 49ers rushing attack.
They draw Appalachian St (0-1) next after the Mountaineers nearly pulled off another big upset.
Turnovers in abundance, a late comeback attempt,the Louisiana Tech (1-0) and South Alabama (0-1) had everything jam packed near for the Bulldogs and Jaguars on Saturday.
La Tech was up by as much as 23-7 before the Jaguars mounted a comeback. Cole Garvin connected with Kawaan Baker for a 3-yard score, but a missed two-point conversion made it 23-13. Then teams fell into a coaches nightmare of punt, fumble, interception, interception, and finally an interception before the Jaguars snapped the streak with a touchdown to bring themselves within three.
The Bulldogs appeared to put things away with 2:19 left with a J'Mar Smith touchdown pass. It took USA just a minute and eight seconds to march down the field, but the PAT was blocked, forcing the Jaguars to need a touchdown instead of a field goal to tie. It never got to that point as the Bulldogs staved off the comeback.
Jaqwis Dancy had 144 yard and two scores to lead the way on the ground for La Tech.
The Bulldogs host Southern (0-1) next after they were drubbed by TCU.
The Vanderbilt (1-0) offense was not particularly sharp on Saturday, but the defense helped contain the Blue Raiders (0-1) by not allowing a single point after the second drive of the game. They even scored a touchdown of their own on a scoop and score that put the Commodores on top 14-7.
Middle Tennessee St had just 294 total yards of offense.
They'll take on UT Martin (0-1) next.
Ten years out of coaching, Herm Edwards didn't show any rust as his Sun Devils (1-0) routed the Roadrunners (0-1).The Arizona St defense held UTSA scoreless until the 6:03 mark in the fourth quarter. while the Roadrunners finished with just two yards rushing.
The North Texas (1-0) defense pitched a shutout for three quarters and led 36-0 before SMU (0-1) found the endzone. Mason Fine was 40-of-50 for 444 yards and three touchdowns with Jalen Guyton reeling in two of those scores.
The Mean Green host Incarnate Word (0-1) next.
Well, for UTEP (0-1) fans, their hopes of earning their first win since the last game of 2016 was quickly dashed.
Northern Arizona (1-0) jumped on the Miners early, outscoring them 10-0 in the first quarter before taking a 17-10 lead into halftime. A 13-0 third quarter for the Lumberjacks allowed their offense to take a breather for the final frame.
UTEP has fellow acronym UNLV up next, but the Rebels were able to hang with USC for the first half of football, so it might be another long day in El Paso. Then again UNLV was upset by Howard last season, so there's a chance.
