The Jimbo Fisher is officially underway and it started with a cake walk. It also helps when Trayveon Williams runs for 240 yards on 20 carries with three touchdowns including a 73-yard TD on the first series of the game.
Up next will be the first challenge for the Aggies (1-0) as they host Clemson (1-0) who also opened with an easy win over an FCS opponent.
If this game did anything,it was to solve the quarterback position for Alabama (1-0) as Tua Tagovailoa clearly outperformed Jalen Hurts. Other than that, the Bama defense smothered the run game, allowing just 16 total yards on the ground. Jawon Pass had a couple of touchdown passes for Louisville (0-1), but they came with Alabama holding a pretty large lead.
Up next for the Crimson Tide is Arkansas St (1-0), so that should be equally entertaining for people who like close games.
Another nail biter as Georgia (1-0) coasted to a 38-0 halftime lead and got a chance to look at the depth chart to see what's behind Jake Fromm. The big highlight came on a Demetris Robertson 72-yard score that made it 24-0 early in the second quarter.
Up next is an early SEC showdown with South Carolina (1-0).
A low scoring defensive struggle that saw plenty of chances for Washington (0-1), but ultimately Auburn (1-0) was able to get enough from its offense to finally win in Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
The two teams slugged their way to a 15-13 halftime score in favor of Auburn.
In the third quarter each team missed a field goal and Jake Browning fumbled with the Huskies knocking on the door to take the lead.
Eventually Washington got the go-ahead field goal at the beginning of the fourth quarter. The Tigers responded two drives later with a 10-yard touchdown run from JaTarvious Whitlow, but a failed two-point conversion left it at 21-16.
Washington was able to get as close as the Auburn 39 before Browning was sacked on fourth down and the Tigers were able to run out the clock.
Next up for the Tigers they'll try to fine tune things against Alabama St (1-0) before welcoming LSU in two weeks.
In the first ever meeting between the two schools and the first game for Jeremy Pruitt at Tennessee (0-1) things could not have gone rougher. They were the only SEC squad to not win its season opener.
It doesn't help that Heisman candidate Will Grier was on the other sideline. He threw for 429 yards and 5 touchdowns in a performance so strong, not even the weather and dropped touchdowns could stop him. Tim Jordan had 118 yards on 20 carries and a score for the Volunteers.
Tennessee hopes to get back on track against ETSU (1-0) next week.
The Joe Moorhead era got off to a much better start. Keytaon Thomspon put up 364 yards and five touchdowns despite completing just 13-of-31. It helps when Osirus Mithcell takes one of those passes 84-yards and another for 30 and both for touchdowns. Thompson also added 109 yards and two scores on the ground for the Bulldogs (1-0).
Up next is a Kansas St (1-0) team that nearly lost to FCS South Dakota.
South Carolina (1-0) ran for more yards (263) than the an entire offensive output (243) for Coastal Carolina (0-1). Throw in 250 yards and four touchdowns through the air from Jake Bentley and the Gamecocks coasted to an easy win.
Up Next is Georgia (1-0).
The Rebels (1-0) and Red Raiders (0-1) started by trading touchdowns, but it was Ole Miss that rattled off four straight scoring drives to build up a 24-7 by the end of the first quarter that they never relinquished.
Jordan Ta'amu threw for 336 yards and two touchdowns while Scottie Phillips scampered for 204 yards on 16 carries with two scores.
The Rebels will fine tune their skills against Southern Illinois (1-0) before welcoming the evil empire (Alabama).
The first half was rough to watch for those who like ball security. Despite winning the game, Kentucky (1-0) showed many flaws with four first half turnovers including a fumble returned for a touchdown that gave Central Michigan (0-1) a 17-7 lead. In total UK coughed the ball up five times, losing two of them, and threw two interceptions.
Luckily Benny Snell continued his stellar career with 20 carries for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Asim Rose added another 104 yards and two touchdowns as well to help the Wildcats escape the upset. The defense also pitched a shut out in the second half and limited CMU to just 255 yards of total offense.
Up next is Florida (1-0) who coasted in week 1.
The Dan Mullen era began without a hitch as the Gators (1-0) easily dispatched of Charleston Southern (0-1). Feleipe Franks tossed five touchdowns and the defense held the Buccaneers to just 225 yards of total offense including three yards passing in 16 attempts.
Up next is Kentucky (1-0).
Drew Lock threw for four touchdowns as the Tigers (1-0) have now won seven of their last eight games going back to last season. The defense limited the Skyhawks (0-1) to just 277 yards of total offense and held the Tennessee Martin to just seven points in the first half.
Up next for Missouri is Wyoming (1-1) who cruised past New Mexico St, but was pushed around by Washington St.
The Arkansas (1-0) defense terrorized Eastern Illinois (0-1) in the first half forcing three fumbles including a scoop and score while the Panthers also hurt their cause with two missed field goals.
The Razorbacks built a comfortable 38-6 lead at halftime.
Ty Storey had threw for 261 yards and three touchdowns with two of them going to La'Michael Pettway.
The Razorbacks will take on Colorado St (0-2) who has found themselves down big and early to both Hawai'i and Colorado already this season.
The Vanderbilt (1-0) offense was not particularly sharp on Saturday, but the defense helped contain the Blue Raiders (0-1) by not allowing a single point after the second drive of the game. They even scored a touchdown of their own on a scoop and score that put the Commodores on top 14-7.
In the second half Vanderbilt was much more efficient scoring a touchdown on all three drives while eating up over 16 minutes of clock.
Up next is Nevada (1-0) who dropped 72 on Portland St last week.
What was billed as the a battle between two heavyweights ended with an early and decisive victory for the "underdog" Tigers (1-0). LSU picked Malik Rosier off twice (including a pick six) and limited the Hurricanes (0-1) to just 83 yards rushing.
LSU scored on the final three drives of the first half, kicked off by a Nick Brossette 50-yard touchdown score.The Tigers took a 33-3 lead into the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.
The Tigers square off against Southeastern Louisiana (0-1) who nearly knocked off Louisiana Monroe last week.
