What a finish between these two teams. Minnesota (2-0) clung to a 10-0 lead until Fresno St (1-1) scored with 20 seconds to go in the third quarter. The Gophers responded with a field goal, but the Bulldogs took their first lead in the fourth quarter with a Marcus McMaryion 45-yard touchdown pass.
Seth Green gave Minnesota the lead back with 3:28 left in the game, but Fresno St marched down the field with a chance to tie. The Bulldogs elected to go with a halfback pass in the redzone and it nearly worked, but Antoine Winfield Jr. made the interception of the year (so far) to secure the win.
Minnesota welcomes the Miami Redhawks (0-2) to Minneapolis next week.

Hell hath no fury like an Ohio State (2-0, 1-0 Big Ten) team scorned. The Buckeyes continued their Urban Meyerless destruction of sub par Power 5 teams. This one happened to be a conference game that Dwayne Haskins got to toss four touchdowns.
His backup Tate Martell was a perfect 10-of-10 for 121 yards a touchdown and had 95 yards rushing with another touchdown in two quarters. By comparison, the entire Rutgers (1-1, 0-1) team had 134 in four quarters.
The Buckeyes face their first real task in Urban Meyer's final game of his suspension, when they travel to No. 15 TCU (2-0). Rutgers will also be facing a Big 12 team in Kansas (1-1), who just snapped a 46-game road losing streak and has a loss to an FCS school so far this season.

Pitt (1-1) and Penn State (2-0) traded touchdowns early on, but Pat Narduzzi elected to go for two and the Panthers missed to make it 7-6. From there Penn State scored 44 unanswered including a questionable 34-yard touchdown pass with the game well out of hand.
Up next for Penn St is Kent St (1-1).

Michigan (1-1) could've sulked after their loss to Notre Dame, but instead took out their anger and disappointment on Western Michigan (0-2). The Wolverines led 35-0 at the half and Karan Higdon ran for 156 yards and a touchdown. Chris Evans added two more scores and 86 yards on the ground.
The Wolverines welcome SMU (0-2) to the Big House next week.

Iowa St (0-1) finished with 188 total yards and did not score after an opening drive field goal. Iowa (2-0) didn't look much better, missing two field goals and totaling just 271 yards, but still got the win. Iowa has now won the last four Cy-Hawk meetings.
The Hawkeyes welcome Northern Iowa (0-1) who last beat Iowa in 1898 and have lost 16 straight match-ups, so they might be due.

Virginia (1-1) had a chance to rally in the fourth quarter, but Indiana (2-0) stopped a final throw from the Hoosiers 27 to keep the Cavaliers on the wrong side of the scoreboard.
Stevie Scott torched the Cavaliers for 204 yards rushing and a score to lead the Hoosiers.
Indiana welcomes a Ball State (1-1) team that surprisingly gave Notre Dame a run for their money last week.

Hyped to welcome a Big Ten school to Northwest Ohio, the Falcons (0-2) took a 14-10 lead into halftime. Maryland (2-0) must have woken up from their mid-game nap as they outscored BGSU 35-0 in the second half.
The Terrapins ran for 444 yards and five touchdowns, while holding the Falcons to 158 total yards including 15 yards rushing.
Maryland welcomes hapless Temple (0-2) to town next week.

Illinois (2-0) fans must have thought a repeat performance against Kent State was in order when Western Illinois (0-2) took a 7-0 lead into the second quarter. The Fighting Illini had other ideas as they outscored the Leathernecks 34-7 in the final three quarters.
Illinois draws what should've been their first tough test in USF (2-0).

Brian Lewerke threw for 314 yards and a touchdown for Michigan St (1-1), but Arizona State (2-0) scored 13 points in the fourth quarter capped by a game-winning 28-yard field goal as time expired.

Michigan State will get a week to recover as they won't open Big Ten play against Indiana until Sept. 22.

Purdue (0-2) clearly underestimated the great Eastern Michigan (2-0) as the Eagles knocked off their second straight Big Ten opponent in the last two seasons. D.J. Knox led Purdue with 152 yards and a touchdown, but two costly turnovers and a missed field goal doomed the Boilermakers.

Purdue will try to rebound against Missouri (2-0).

Scott Frost's debut came against a former Big 12 foe in Colorado (2-0), but the now PAC 12 Buffaloes spoiled the party in Lincoln, with a last minute touchdown.
Nebraska (0-1) took a 21-17 lead into halftime, but fell apart in the fourth quarter. It started with a missed field goal, then a turnover on downs, followed by an interception, then a punt, and finally on downs to end the game.
The decisive blow came on a fantastic catch by Laviska Shenault Jr. that put Colorado up 33-28 with 1:06 left in the game. Another blow came when the Cornhuskers lost starting quarterback Adrian Martinez to a knee injury.

Nebraska stays at home this week for a meeting with Troy (1-1).

The Wildcats (1-1) scored seven in the first quarter, the Blue Devils (2-0) got all 21 in the second, and then no one did anything offensively for the rest of the game. Jeremy Larkin had 121 yards and touchdown to lead the way for Northwestern.

The Wildcats welcome Akron(1-0) to Evanston next week.
