The Rams (1-2) pass defense had been picked apart by Hawai'i and Colorado, but they were able to hold Arkansas (1-1) to just 138 yards through the air.
K.J. Carta-Samuels threw for 389 yards and two scores, both of them going to Preston Williams, who also had 154 yards receiving. The Rams used a 17-0 surge in the fourth quarter to rally past the Razorbacks for the win.
The Rams travel to Florida to face the Gators (1-1) next.
Cole McDonald was held to a season low in passing yards, but it was still 319 yards while throwing four touchdowns.
Rice (1-2) tried to make things interesting with a 16 point surge in the fourth quarter, but Fred Holly III put the Rainbow Warriors (3-0) up by two scores with 1:35 left to seal the victory on 46-yard touchdown run.
Hawai'i welcomes Army (1-1) to the islands next.
Boise St (2-0) put up 41 in the first half and totaled 818 yards of offense while holding UConn (0-2) to just 193.
Brett Rypien threw for three touchdowns and 362 yards while the running game accounted for 400 yards and four scores.
Boise St. heads to Stillwater for a big showdown with No. 24 Oklahoma St (2-0).
Last season the New Mexico St Aggies (0-3) beat the Utah St Aggies (1-1) in the Arizona Bowl for their first bowl win in 57 years. This year Utah State exacted its revenge as they forced five NMST turnovers, one of those leading to a defensive touchdown, and held those Aggies to just 280 total yards.
Gerold Bright led the way for Utah State offensively with 134 yards rushing and a score. Dominik Eberle made all six field goal attempts including a 51-yard boot.
Utah State has a short week to prepare for Tennessee Tech (0-2) on Thursday.
The Miners (0-2) extended their losing streak to 14 after falling behind 38-10 at the half to UNLV (1-1). The Rebels as a team ran for 414 yards with Lexington Thomas accounting for 127 of those with two touchdowns. Armani Rogers completed just six passes, but three of them went for touchdowns. He also ran for 103 yards and a score.
The Rebels welcome Prairie View A&M (1-2) to the Sin City next.
The Aztecs (1-1) actually trailed at one point 14-13, but Juwan Washington took over in the fourth quarter with two touchdowns to add to his total of three. He carried the ball 36 times and racked up 156 yards.
San Diego St will host the No. 23 Arizona St Sun Devils (2-0) who stunned No. 15 Michigan St last week.
What a finish between these two teams. Minnesota (2-0) clung to a 10-0 lead until Fresno St (1-1) scored with 20 seconds to go in the third quarter. The Gophers responded with a field goal, but the Bulldogs took their first lead in the fourth quarter with a Marcus McMaryion 45-yard touchdown pass.
Seth Green gave Minnesota the lead back with 3:28 left in the game, but Fresno St marched down the field with a chance to tie. The Bulldogs elected to go with a halfback pass in the redzone and it nearly worked, but Antoine Winfield Jr. made the interception of the year (so far) to secure the win.
The Bulldogs will travel to Los Angeles, looking to add to Chip Kelly and UCLA's (0-2) misery.
New Mexico (1-1) led 7-3 at the end of the first quarter, then Jonathan Taylor took over and ran for a career high 253 yards and three touchdowns. The Wisconsin (2-0) defense also held the Lobos to just 211 total yards.
New Mexico goes into Las Cruces for the Rio Grande Rivalry where New Mexico St (0-3) has won the last two meetings.
Nevada (1-1) only trailed by seven at halftime, but Vanderbilt outscored the Wolfpack 24-0 in the second half. Nevada committed four turnovers and had just 34 yards rushing.
They will welcome Oregon St (1-1) to Reno next week.
Another weather delayed game for Air Force (1-1), but this time it came in Boca Raton, Florida, as the Owls held off a late rally by the Falcons.
The Owls big blow came when Chris Robison found Willie Wright for a 26-yard score to put FAU up by 13. That's not to say Air Force didn't make it interesting. The Falcons blocked a punt and scored to make it 33-27 and then recovered the onside kick. Ocie Ross secured the win for the Owls though, when he picked off Isaiah Sanders with 50 seconds remaining.
Air Force takes a week off before opening Mountain West play against Utah St.
Wyoming (1-2) amassed just 248 yards while allowing Drew Lock to throw for 398 yards and four touchdowns to lead Missouri (2-0).
The Cowboys welcome Wofford (2-0) to Laramie on Saturday.
It's going to be a long year for the Spartans (0-2). They finished with 109 yards of total offense including 9 yards on the ground. They allowed 544 yards to the Cougars (2-0) including 420 through the air.
It only gets worse as they head off to face No. 20 Oregon (2-0) before taking a week off, then welcoming the top passing offense in the country in Hawai'i.
