After three impressive wins, Oklahoma (4-0) fans were probably feeling good about welcoming a service academy into Norman. They most likely didn't see how Army (2-2) shut down a high powered Hawai'i offense.
Army played an entire game of keep away from Kyler Murray and the Sooners as they held the ball for nearly 45 minutes! Oklahoma looked great right off the bat, scoring on a Murray touchdown pass to Carson Meier. Then Army trudged along for a 16 play, 75-yard drive, that lasted 9:31 and resulted in a Connor Slomka 1-yard plunge.
Murray threw another touchdown on the next drive, this time to CeeDee Lamb in a drive that took 2:36. So Army ran another 16 play, 75-yard drive, that was only 8:54. The Black Knights even went for it on fourth and eight that drive and were able to complete a rare pass. This time Murray would run it in from 33 yards to give Oklahoma a 21-14 lead at the half.
In the second half the Sooners started with an interception that set up another Army journey to the endzone. This time it was an epic 19 play, 85 yard drive, that lasted nearly 11 minutes before Andy Davidson scored to tie the game. The Black Knights bled the clock another ten minutes and attempted to take the lead, but threw an interception to set up the Sooners. Oklahoma got down inside the redzone, but Austin Seibert missed the game winning field goal as time expired.
In overtime the Sooners needed two plays before Murray and Lamb connected again for the quick score. Army's drive was over in four plays, but this time it ended on a Parnell Motley interception to avoid the upset bid.

Oklahoma returns to conference play for a showdown with Baylor (3-1, 1-0 Big 12)

The upset tour continues for Texas (3-1, 1-0 Big 12) after the Longhorns were upset themselves to open the season. This time Texas used a second half surge to overtake TCU (2-2, 0-1) to knock off their second straight ranked opponent.
The Horned Frogs imploded in the second half as they missed two field goals and committed three turnovers as they mirrored their performance against Ohio State. Sam Ehlinger got the Longhorns the lead when he found Collin Johnson for a 31-yard score with 45 seconds left in the third quarter. Caden Smith picked off Shawn Robinson on the ensuing drive to set up a 2-yard TD run by Ehlinger to give the Longhorns two scores in a 17 second time frame.
Ehlinger put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter when his second touchdown pass made it 31-16 with 3:18 left in the game. TCU had won the previous four meetings.
Texas will now head to Kansas State (2-2, 0-1) while TCU hosts Iowa St (1-2, 0-1).

While their in-state rivals were being lulled by the Army run game, Oklahoma St (3-1.0-1 Big 12) was being bombarded by Alan Bowman and the Texas Tech (3-1, 1-0) aerial assualt.
Bowman had a modest 397 yards by his standards, with two scores while Demarcus Felton ran wild for 121 yards and two scores to lead the Red Raiders. Justice Hill ran for 111 yards and a score while Taylor Cornelius threw for the other Cowboys touchdown, but was just 18-of-38 on the day.
Much like Army did to Oklahoma, the Red Raiders used the clock as their friend, holding the ball for over 41 minutes.
Texas Tech welcomes No. 12 West Virginia (3-0, 1-0) next in what's likely to be a Big 12 shootout. Oklahoma State faces a much improved Kansas (2-2, 0-1) team in Lawrence.

In a match-up of teams with disappointing 2017 seasons, Baylor (3-1, 1-0 Big 12) used a big first half to keep Kansas (2-2, 0-1) from winning their first Big 12 game since Nov. 19, 2016.
Charlie Brewer threw three first half touchdowns to give the Bears a 23-0 lead at the half. Peyton Bender found Jeremiah Booker for the Jayhawks only score. That drive was set up by a  Pooka Williams Jr. 72-yard run. Williams was held under 100 yards (89) for the first game he's appeared in this season.
Baylor travels to Norman to face the shaken No.6 Sooners (4-0, 1-0) while Kansas welcomes the stunned Cowboys (3-1, 0-1) of Oklahoma St.

Akron (2-1) already had notched a win over a Power 5 school and were hoping to take out their frustration that Nebraska ditched them to play an FCS school in a make-up game. Iowa State (1-2) also had their first game canceled because of weather and certainly understood the Zips pain, but didn't let them hold up on doubling up Akron.
The Cyclones drugged to a 17-10 lead at the half and Akron came within four after a third quarter field goal. Connor Assalley knocked through three fourth quarter field goal to hold off the upset bid. Zeb Noland threw for 233 yards and a score while David Montgomery had 107 yards and a touchdown to lead the Cyclones attack.
Iowa State now heads to TCU (2-2, 0-1).
