Georgia Tech (4-4, 2-3 ACC) had the option running to perfection as the Yellow Jackets racked up 465 yards and seven rushing touchdowns in the win over Virginia Tech (4-3, 3-1) on Thursday.
Tobias Oliver attempted just one pass, but ran 40 times for 215 yards and three touchdowns. Jordan Mason also had three touchdowns on just 12 carries for Georgia Tech in the win.
Ryan Willis threw for two touchdowns and ran for another in the loss for the Hokies.
The Yellow Jackets head to North Carolina (1-6, 1-4) while Hokies host Boston College (6-2, 3-1).
The Hurricanes (5-3, 2-2 ACC) had no answer for the return of A.J. Dillon who ran for 149 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries to lead the way for Boston College (6-2, 3-1).
Anthony Brown threw and ran for a touchdown to help the Eagles hand Miami back-to-back losses.
Malik Rosier threw for a score, but was just 18-of-35 with two interceptions. DeeJay Dallas ran for the other Hurricanes score in the loss.
Boston College heads to Virginia Tech (4-3, 3-1) next while the Canes host Duke(5-3, 3-1).
The Clemson Tigers (8-0, 5-0 ACC) handed the Seminoles (4-4, 2-4) their worst defeat in school history with a bludgeoning in Tallahassee.
Trevor Lawrence threw for 314 yards and four touchdowns while three different Tigers had rushing touchdowns. Amari Rodgers caught six passes for 156 yards and two scores in the win.
Keyshawn Helton caught the only touchdown of the game for Florida State from back-up quarterback James Blackman in the fourth quarter. Helton also finished with 100 yards on just three catches.
Clemson looks for another lopsided victory against Louisville (2-6, 0-5) in Death Valley. The Seminoles hope they can regroup and hand NCST (5-2, 2-2) their third straight loss.
Eric Dungey threw three touchdowns and ran for another as Syracuse (6-2, 3-2 ACC) upset NCST (5-2, 2-2) to hand the Wolfpack their second straight loss.
Dontae Strickland led the rushing attack with 43 yards and the finishing touchdown the put the Orange up by ten late in the fourth quarter. Strickland actually finished with more passing yards on trick play with a 48 yard completion to Sean Riley. Riley had a big day with ten catches for 164 yards.
Ryan Finley threw for 473 yards and three touchdowns, but also threw a costly interception with NCST only trailing by three with 2:10 to play. His favorite target was Kelvin Harmon who finished with 11 catches for 247 yards and two scores.
Syracuse goes for win number three in-a-row when they head to Wake Forest (4-4, 1-3). The Wolfpack head home and look to end their skid against a struggling Florida State (4-4, 2-4) team.
The Demon Deacons (4-4, 1-3 ACC) picked up their first ACC win on the year in a shootout with Louisville (2-6, 0-5).
Matt Colburn had 20 carries for 243 yards and three touchdowns to lead the way for Wake Forest. Sam Hartman threw two scores and ran for another while Greg Dortch added eight catches for 135 yards.
Jawon Pass threw for 358 yards and a score for the Cardinals as Tutu Atwell (132) and Jaylen Smith (107) both finished with over 100 yards receiving. Trey Smith had 13 carries for 98 yards and three touchdowns in the loss.
The Demon Deacons host Syracuse (6-2, 3-2) while Louisville has a tough deal at Clemson (8-0, 5-0).
Virginia (6-2, 4-1 ACC) won its third straight and fifth game in the last six as they knocked off North Carolina (1-6, 1-4) on Saturday.
Bryce Perkins threw for three touchdowns and ran for 112 yards and another score to lead the Cavaliers.
Nathan Elliott tossed two scores for the Tar Heels while Michael Carter ran for another touchdown in the loss.
Virginia hosts Pittsburgh (4-4, 3-1) next Friday while UNC clings to its bowl hopes when Georgia Tech (4-4, 2-3) comes to town.
The Pitt Panthers (4-4, 3-1 ACC) came through on an emotional day in the city as the slipped past the Duke Blue Devils (5-3, 1-3).
The Panthers rallied with 19 points in the fourth quarter as Alex Kessman tied the game on a 48-yard field goal with 2:33 to play. Pitt got the ball back and with five seconds remaining, Kenny Pickett found Maurice Ffrench for a 25-yard touchdown pass. The defense picked up a safety in the final seconds as Duke attempted a last ditch effort.
Daniel Jones threw four touchdowns in the loss. Qadree Ollison (Pitt, 149 yards, TD), V'Lique Carter (Pitt, 137 yards, 2 TD), and Deon Jackson (Duke, 162 yards) all finished the day with over 100 yards rushing.
Pitt heads to Virginia (6-2,4-1) for a Friday night showdown while Duke pays a visit to Miami (5-3, 2-2) on Saturday.
