Conference USA Week 9 Recap

The Bulldogs (6-2, 4-1 CUSA) took a 14-10 lead into the half and the defense held off Florida Atlantic (3-5, 1-3) on Friday.
Kam McKnight ran for a touchdown on his only carry while Jaqwis Dancy ran for 116 yards and a score for La Tech. Teddy Veal hauled in a beautiful over the shoulder grab from J'Mar Smith that made it 21-13.
Devin Singletary had a big day for the Owls with 19 carries for 171 yards and FAU's lone touchdown.
The Bulldogs head out of conference to take on Mississippi State (5-3) while the Owls head to Miami for a showdown with rivals FIU (6-2, 4-0).

The 49ers (4-4, 3-2 CUSA) held off a late rally by the Golden Eagles (3-4, 2-2).
Charlotte built up a 17-0 lead thanks to a Hasaan Klugh 5-yard run and a Juwan Foggie 79-yard pick six. Tate Whitley came on for Jack Abraham and led Southern Miss to two touchdown drives to bring the Golden Eagles within three. The 49ers recovered the onside kick and then Benny LeMay picked up a key fourth down to seal the victory.
Charlotte goes for their most wins since joining the FBS, but will have to do so at Tennessee (3-5). Southern Miss will host Marshall (5-2, 3-1).

The Blue Raiders (5-3, 4-1 CUSA) blitzed Old Dominion (2-7, 1-5) to knock the Monarchs out of bowl contention.
Brent Stockstill threw for two touchdowns while running for another and Terelle West added 120 yards rushing and a touchdown for Middle Tennessee State.
Blake LaRussa threw for 333 yards and two touchdowns, but had three interceptions. Travis Fulgham was nearly uncover-able with 10 catches for 215 yards and a touchdown in the loss.
The Blue Raiders will welcome Western Kentucky (1-7, 0-4) on Friday while Old Dominion takes a week off before hosting North Texas (7-2, 3-2).

The Panthers (6-2, 4-0 CUSA) stayed perfect in conference play with a drubbing of Western Kentucky (1-7, 0-4).
James Morgan threw for three touchdowns while D'Vonte Price added 119 yards rushing and two scores for FIU.
Steven Duncan and D'Andre Ferby both had rushing touchdown for the Hilltoppers.
The Panthers hosts rival Florida Atlantic (3-5, 1-3) while WKU heads to Middle Tennessee State (5-3, 4-1).

The Mean Green (7-2, 3-2 CUSA) shook off a sluggish first half to put away Rice (1-8, 0-5).
Mason Fine threw for 333 yards and two touchdowns with 145 yards and one of those touchdowns going to Rico Bussey Jr. DeAndre Torrey added 130 yards rushing and three touchdowns for North Texas.
Wiley Green threw and ran for a touchdown in the loss for the Owls.
The Mean Green take a week off before heading to Old Dominion (2-7, 1-5) while Rice and UTEP (0-8, 0-4) head for a collision course for their first conference wins.

The Blazers (7-1, 5-0 CUSA) continue their historic start while UTEP (0-8, 0-4) continues its 20 game losing streak.
Spencer Brown had 103 yards and touchdown in the win for UAB. The Miners as a team had 120 total yards.
The Blazers host a well rested UTSA (3-5, 2-2) team next while UTEP looks at their best bet to end the streak when they head to Rice (1-8, 0-5).
