Eight More Teams Clinch Bowl Bids After Surviving Crazy Week

In a week where eight ranked teams lost including four in the Top Ten, its always good to celebrate those who didn't falter and will be playing at least one extra game.

The Golden Knights nearly added their name to the list of upsets, but they were able to rally in the rain against Memphis to keep their 19-game win streak in tact. If they can remain undefeated, they have two potentially ranked opponents at the end of their schedule, which could help get them to the College Football Playoff, or at least a second straight New Year's Six game.
Best Win: Pitt

The Bulls were yet another team on the brink of being handed their first loss, but a rally against Tulsa kept them undefeated. They also have two currently ranked teams remaining, but don't have the clout of rival UCF.
Best Win: Georgia Tech

Texas also escaped danger as they narrowly escaped Baylor. The lone loss came against a Maryland team that was without their coach, but was playing with an emotional edge in their first game with out their deceased teammate, Jordan McNair. Texas won their big game already against Oklahoma in the Red River Shooutout, but still have West Virginia and the giant killer known as Iowa State.
Best Win: Oklahoma
Bowl Projection: Rose Bowl

A statement win against No. 15 Wisconsin helped clinch a bowl bid for the Wolverines, but with several ranked teams, including Ohio State, left on their schedule, their aim could be much higher than the Outback Bowl. The lone loss came in week one to a Fighting Irish that is currently one of eight undefeated teams in the country.
Best Win: Wisconsin
Bowl Projection: Rose Bowl

The Mean Green were riding high from a win against an SEC team before being brought back to Earth by Louisiana Tech. North Texas can still win Conference USA, but their chances for a major bowl game were never a thought. A conference title and a bowl win are lofty goals in Denton.
Best Win: Arkansas
Bowl Projection: First Responder Bowl

The Bulls have only been slowed by an Army team that even gave Oklahoma fits. Their 3-0 start to begin the season was their best open since 1981. The MAC East and likely the MAC itself is theirs for the taking. They last won the MAC in 2008, but are 0-2 in bowl appearances.
Best Win: Temple
Bowl Projection: Dollar General Bowl

The Tigers got a statement win against No. 2 Georgia, but still have Alabama, Mississippi State, and Texas A&M left. Of course they also have Rice and Arkansas too. The one loss came in the final seconds to Auburn, which doesn't look nearly as good now that the Tigers can't beat anybody.
Best Win: Georgia
Bowl Projection: Sugar Bowl

The Gators had some people worried after their first loss to Kentucky since the mid 80's, but Florida has righted the ship with wins over Mississippi State and LSU. If they can get past Georgia next Saturday, the Gators only have two more SEC games, an FCS game, and rival Florida State left. As long as Kentucky doesn't win out, Florida is likely destined for a showdown with Alabama in the SEC title game.
Best Win: LSU
Bowl Projection: Citrus Bowl
