The Broncos (3-1, 1-0 MWC) jumped out a 24-0 lead at the half to cruise to victory on the road at Wyoming (2-3, 0-1).
Brett Rypien threw for 342 yards and two touchdowns with 113 of those yards and one touchdown going to A.J. Richardson. Nico Evans had 12 carries for 141 yards and a score in the loss for a Wyoming team that finished with only 81 yards rushing. That's because the Broncos sacked Tyler Vander Waal five times.
Boise State will take on the other team to win the Mountain West in recent years, San Diego State (3-1). Wyoming will hit the islands as they take on Hawai'i (5-1, 2-0).

The Wolfpack (3-2, 1-0 MWC) fought off a late rally by Air Force (1-3, 0-1) to secure the win on Saturday.
Nevada jumped out to a 28-10 lead as Ty Gangi threw four touchdown passes, two of those going to Elijah Cooks. Donald Hammond III got the rally started with a 2-yard touchdown pass to make it a 28-17 game. With 6:48 left, Hammond ran it in from nine yards out, but the Falcons missed the two-point conversion.
On their next drive Air Force was stopped at the Nevada 11-yard line and the Wolfpack elected to take a team safety rather than allow the Falcons to block a punt for a touchdown. On the kickoff Ronald Cleveland returned it back to the 41-yard line with 10 seconds left to set up a few chances for Air Force. Both passes from Hammond fell incomplete and the Wolfpack secured the win.

Nevada will host Fresno State (3-1) in the Bulldogs Mountain West opener. Air Force will host Navy (2-2) in the first round of the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy.

The Rainbow Warriors (5-1, 2-0 MWC) entered as one of the hottest offenses while San Jose State lost to an FCS school to start the year, but that didn't stop the Spartans from challenging Hawai'i in a thrilling five overtime game.
San Jose St jumped out to a 17-3 lead, but Hawai'i responded to eventually tie the game at 24. Malike Roberson put the Spartans back on top in the fourth quarter, but Cole McDonald tied the game for the Rainbow Warriors with his third touchdown pass to John Ursua with 4:34 left to play in regulation. Hawai'i had a chance to win it from midfield, but McDonald was sacked and stripped to send it to overtime.
In the first overtime each team found the end zone, but in the next two OTs both squads would miss field goals to send it to a fourth overtime. In the fourth overtime, both teams would make their field goals and Hawai'i took the lead in the fifth overtime on Ryan Meskell's 35-yard field goal. He finished the day 3-of-5 in field goals and 3-of-4 on extra points. Bryce Crawford had a chance to tie the game with a 47-yard field goal, but missed for the fourth time in six tries to send Hawai'i home winners.

The Rainbow Warriors welcome Wyoming (2-3, 0-1) to the islands while San Jose State looks for a win against hapless Colorado State (1-4, 0-1).

The Lobos (2-2) fell behind 42-10 at the half, but made a mad comeback in the second half that came up short against Liberty (2-2).
The rally started when Sheriron Jones hooked up with Patrick Reed for 79 yards, but Andrew Shelley would miss the PAT. Later in the third quarter, Jones found Delane Hart-Johnson for a 4-yard touchdown. Jones third touchdown came early in the fourth when he and Marcus Williams hooked up for a 7-yard touchdown that made it 42-29.
Peytton Pickett extended the Flames lead back to 20 on a touchdown run. Jones brought New Mexico right back with the fourth touchdown by Jones, this time a 31-yard score to Tyrone Owens. With 5:07 left Owens scored for the third time and had his second rushing touchdown to bring the Lobos within six.
Liberty tacked on a field goal to push the lead to nine with 1:02 left in the game. A decent return and a big play set up New Mexico in good shape, but Jones was picked off by Isaac Steele at the Flames 2-yard line.
The Lobos head to UNLV (2-2) next for both teams Mountain West opener.
