The Commodores (3-5, 0-4 SEC) and Wildcats (6-1, 4-1) were tied at seven until Benny Snell Jr. scored in the fourth quarter to help Kentucky stay alive in the SEC East race.
Snell had a monster day with 169 yards rushing and the score. Terry Wilson completed only three pass, all to Lynn Bowden Jr., but one was for the Wildcats first score.
Kyle Shurmur threw a first quarter touchdown, but that was the lone offensive highlight for Vanderbilt. They would miss a field goal and fumble at the UK 16-yard line before fumbling on their last drive of the game when Shurmur was sacked and stripped to secure the win for Big Blue.
Normally a bowl bid for Kentucky would be satisfactory, but with an SEC Championship still in play, they'll look to stay hot on the road at Missouri (4-3, 0-3). Vanderbilt will head to Arkansas (2-6, 0-4) as both teams look for conference win number one.
The LSU (7-1, 4-1 SEC) defense was hungry as they feasted on four Nick Fitzgerald interceptions to cruise to an easy win over Mississippi State (4-3, 1-3).
Offense was at a premium for both teams as Tigers were actually out gained 260-239. Nick Brossette had the lone touchdown of the game for LSU while Cole Tracy was true on all four field goal attempts with none longer than 40 yards.
Fitzgerald did have 131 yards rushing on the day for the Bulldogs.
LSU gets a week to prepare their home for a top four showdown with Alabama (8-0, 5-0) on Nov. 3. Mississippi State hosts No. 16 Texas A&M (5-2, 3-1) on Saturday.
Auburn (5-3, 2-3 SEC) got a big day from JaTarvious Whitlow as they distanced themselves from Ole Miss (5-3, 1-3) to pull away in the second half.
Whitlow may have had 170 yards rushing, but he didn't get any of the glory as Malik Miller had two rushing touchdowns and receiver Anthony Schwartz added another. Whitlow did catch a touchdown from Jarrett Stidham.
A.J. Brown led the way for the Rebels as he caught 10 catches for 155 yards and the lone touchdown for Ole Miss.
Auburn gets a week off to prepare for Texas A&M at home on Nov. 3. The Rebels also take a break before hosting South Carolina on Nov. 3 as well.
The Alabama Crimson Tide (8-0, 5-0 SEC) continued their dominance of Tennessee (3-4, 1-3) as they have now beaten the Volunteers for the 12th consecutive time.
The "Third Saturday in October" used to mean something, but for Tua Tagovailoa it was another day to throw four touchdowns and get some rest. Josh Jacobs added two rushing touchdowns as the Crimson Tide racked up 545 total yards of offense.
Keller Chryst threw two touchdowns and the defense scored on a pick six off Jalen Hurts that brought the Volunteers within 30.
Alabama gets a week off before heading to LSU (7-1, 4-1) in a monster top four showdown on Nov. 3. Tennessee will head to South Carolina (3-3, 2-3) next.
Drew Lock threw four touchdowns including three to tight end Albert Okwuegbunam to lead Missouri (4-3) over Memphis (4-4) in the battle of the Tigers.
Mizzou also got thee rushing touchdowns and 118 yards from Larry Rountree III. The defense had three sacks and two interceptions, including a pick-six against Brady White.
The Tigers will host No. 12 Kentucky (6-1, 4-1 SEC) next.
The pain has been temporarily numbed in Arkansas (2-6) as the Razorbacks snapped a five-game losing streak with a shutout of Tulsa (1-6).
Connor Noland threw for a touchdown and Maleek Williams ran for another in the victory.
Arkansas goes for SEC win number one as they welcome Vanderbilt (3-5, 0-4 SEC).
