Sun Belt Week 6 Recap

Troy (5-1,3-0 Sun Belt) led at one point 30-6 in the fourth quarter as they rolled to an easy win over Georgia State(2-4, 1-1).
Kaleb Barker and Sawyer Smith combined to throw for three touchdowns while B.J. Smith had 17 carries for 140 yards and two scores, including a 78-yard TD to lead the Trojans. Troy's defense had two sacks, forced two turnovers, and racked up a safety.
Dan Ellington had 272 yards passing with a touchdown and led the Panthers in rushing with 59 yards. His favorite target was Penny Hart who hauled in six catches for 128 yards. Tra Barnett had Georgia State's other touchdown with a 1-yard plunge into the end zone.
Troy will go out of conference next as they head to Liberty (2-3), while the Panthers take a break until they head to Arkansas State on Thursday, Oct. 18.

The Eagles (4-1, 2-0 Sun Belt) defense forced four turnovers and ran over South Alabama (1-5, 1-2) to cruise to victory on Saturday.
Shai Werts had 99 yards passing with a touchdown and added 11 carries for 85 yards and two more scores to lead Georgia Southern. Wesley Fields had 13 carries for 81 yards and two touchdowns.
Tra Minter had the lone touchdown for the Jaguars and led the USA rushing attack with just 38 yards on 16 carries.
Georgia Southern has a short week before heading to Texas State (1-4, 0-2) on Thursday while South Alabama hosts FCS Alabama State (2-3).

The Ragin' Cajuns (2-3, 1-1 Sun Belt) jumped out to a 28-0 lead at halftime and cruised to an easy win over Texas State (1-4, 0-2) on Saturday.
Louisiana had two 100 yard rushers in Trey Ragas (100 yards, touchdown) and Elijah Mitchell (191 yards, three touchdowns) while Andre Nunez and Levi Lewis each had a passing touchdown.
Quaterback Tyler Vitt tried to rally the Bobcats with three second half touchdowns and led the team in rushing with 92 yards. Keenen Brown was his big target on the night with four catches for 90 yards and two scores.
The Ragin' Cajuns will host former Sun Belt foe New Mexico State (2-4) while Texas State hosts Georgia Southern (4-1, 2-0) on Thursday.

Ole Miss (4-2) put up 826 yards and 70 points to cruise past the Warhawks (2-4).
Derrick Gore had an 8-yard touchdown and led ULM with 52 yards on 10 carries. Colby Suits threw a touchdown in relief of Caleb Evans. Marcus Green had the biggest play of the day for the Warhawks with a 71-yard punt return.
ULM returns to Sun Belt action next week when they head to Coastal Carolina (3-2, 1-1 Sun Belt).
