Friday nigh marked the annual Border War between Colorado State (3-6, 2-3 MWC) and Wyoming (3-6, 1-4) and for the third straight year, it was all Cowboys.
After only playing to a 3-0 lead in the first half, Nico Evans scored on a 14-yard touchdown pass from Sean Chambers, then Chambers ran in for a touchdown. The Wolfpack opened the second half with a Devonte Lee two-yard touchdown and then a field goal to take the lead at 25-24. Another field goal pushed the lead to four and the Aztecs could only punt in the second half. San Diego State elected to go for it on a fourth and ten rather than pin Nevada deep, and missed.
The Aztecs would get the ball back at their own 1-yard line, but got away with another holding in the end zone and instead got a roughing the passer to held dig them out of the shadow of the end zone. Eventually San Diego State would get one last heave to the end zone and it was knocked away to win it for Nevada.
