1.)
The Rainbow Warriors are 3-0 in conference play for the first time since joining the Mountain West (2012). Cole McDonald is second in the country in passing yards (2,100) and passing touchdowns (24) while receiver John Ursua (pictured) leads the nation in touchdown catches (12) and is second in yards (801).
Bowl Projection: Hawai'i Bowl (vs CUSA or PAC 12)
2.)
The Bearcats are one of two undefeated teams from the great state of Ohio, but their ability to stay that way could come to an end soon. Temple (3-3) has figured things out offensively and if they survive that test, than two currently undefeated teams make up their November schedule in No. 23 USF and No. 10 UCF. Michael Warren II is currently fourth in touchdowns (11) and eighth in rushing yards (664).
Bowl Projection: The Military Bowl (vs ACC)
3.)
The Bulldogs arguably have the toughest road to the CFP. Currently their next four games are against Top 25 opponents No. 13 LSU, No. 14 Florida, No. 18 Kentucky, and No. 21 Auburn. If they survive that, then they likely have to defeat Alabama in the SEC Championship. If they even have one loss and Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Clemson are all unblemished, they could be the team that makes people complain about their only being four teams. Jake Fromm has been reliable with 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns to go with just two interceptions in 114 attempts.
Bowl Projection: Peach Bowl
4.)
Being an independent means you cannot miss a beat and the Fighting Irish should win the remainder of their games, but it's a schedule full of trap games if Notre Dame is trying to sleepwalk. The Irish only play two more home games with Navy (San Diego) and Syracuse (Yankee Stadium) coming at neutral sights. Their two road trips go to the Big Ten trap in Northwestern and ends with the rivalry game at USC.
Bowl Projection: Fiesta Bowl
5.)
Dwyane Haskins leads all of college football with 25 touchdowns and his 1,919 yards are the third most. The Buckeyes got through a tough test at Penn State and won't be challenged until "The Game," which might be interesting if the Wolverines can keep up with the scoring. If they get past the team up north, they'll likely face a less than impressive Wisconsin team in the Big Ten Championship.
Bowl Projection: Rose Bowl (CFP Game)
6.)
The Tigers only ranked opponent comes in their next game against No. 20 NCST, but they should be able to barrel through the ACC and South Carolina with Travis Etienne. He's currently fourth in touchdowns (11) and rushing yards (761). The next real test will come in the ACC Championship against either the Hurricanes or the Hokies.
Bowl Projection: Sugar Bowl (CFP Game)
7.)
Alabama has three currently ranked opponents left on the schedule and likely Georgia in the SEC Championship. Unlike Georgia, if the Crimson Tide lose to say Auburn of Georgia, the committee will likely still find a way to put Alabama in. That's not to say that Alabama isn't a juggernaut, having won by at least 22 in every contest while scoring 45 points or more in their first six games. For the College Football Playoffs it seems like life, death, taxes, and Alabama football. What makes them so dangerous this year is that Tua Tagovailoa is virtually unstoppable. He has 1,495 yards (23rd most) and 18 touchdowns (6th best) which are crazy stats when you realize he's only thrown 101 passes this season and doesn't play for good chunks of the second half.
Bowl Projection: Sugar Bowl/National Championship
