The Blazers (5-1, 3-0 CUSA) obliterated the Rice Owls (1-6, 0-3) as they are just one win away from becoming bowl eligible.
A.J. Erdely threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Blazers outgained the Owls 482-186.
UAB will host a big game in Conference USA next as North Texas (6-1, 2-1) comes to town. Rice will head to FIU (4-2, 2-0) before counting down the weeks until they face UTEP.
The Mean Green (6-1, 2-1 CUSA) defense was in a bend not break mode as Southern Miss (2-3, 1-1) only scored seven points despite Jack Abraham throwing for 318 yards.
Mason Fine threw for 292 yards and a score to Jalen Guyton who caught seven balls for 124 yards. DeAndre Torrey was the big star for North Texas as he scored three times and ran for 95 yards.
Jordan Watkins finished with 12 catches for 135 yards while Quez Watkins had seven catches for 109 yards and the lone score for the Golden Eagles.
North Texas head to UAB (5-1, 3-0) while Southern Miss hosts UTSA (3-4, 2-1).
Benny LeMay ran for 121 yards and two scores to help the 49ers (3-3, 2-1 CUSA) rout Western Kentucky (1-5, 0-2).
Evan Shirreffs had a passing and rushing touchdown for Charlotte with Aaron McAllister adding another score on the ground. Steven Duncan and Kevaris Thomas scored the only two Hilltopper touchdowns.
The 49ers will head to Middle Tennessee State (3-3, 2-1) while WKU hosts Old Dominion (1-6, 0-4).
Old Dominion's (1-6, 0-4 CUSA) recent performances make it all the more puzzling that they beat Virginia Tech as they were routed by Marshall (4-2, 2-1) on Saturday.
Tyler King feasted on the Monarchs defense as he ran for 195 yards and two touchdowns while Anthony Anderson added 91 yards and three scores. Tyre Brady caught nine passes for 103 yards and a score to also aid the Thundering Herd.
Blake LaRussa threw for 296 yards and two scores, but was sacked three times and picked off once.
Marshall will host Florida Atlantic (3-3, 1-1) next while Old Dominion heads to Western Kentucky (1-5, 0-2).
The Roadrunners (3-4, 2-1 CUSA) had there three game winning streak snapped abruptly as the Bulldogs (4-2, 2-1) pummeled UTSA.
J'Mar Smith threw for 309 yards and a score while Kam McKnight found the end zone twice on the ground for La Tech in the win. The Roadrunners were just 3-of-12 on third down and committed turnovers.
The Bulldogs welcome winless UTEP (0-6, 0-2) while UTSA heads to Southern Miss (2-3, 1-1).
The Panthers (4-2, 2-0 CUSA) stunned the Blue Raiders (3-3, 2-1) as they scored the final 11 points of the game.
Jose Borregales was solely keeping FIU in the game as he connected on three field goals, including a 53-yard boot at the end of the first half. Tavares Thomas had two rushing touchdowns to help put Middle Tennessee State on top 21-13 going into the fourth quarter.
A Borregales field goal made it 21-16 and MTST was forced to punt to give FIU the ball back with plenty of time. The Panthers converted three third downs before James Morgan tossed his second touchdown of the day.
They were able to convert on the two-point conversion to go ahead by three. The Blue Raiders were poised to at least tie the game, but Asher O'Hara made an ill advised choice to throw into coverage and was picked off by Olin Cushion III to seal the comeback.
FIU will host Rice (1-6, 0-3) while the Blue Raiders host Charlotte (3-3, 2-1).
