Trailing 17-10 at the half, the Blue Raiders (3-2, 2-0 CUSA) put up 24 unanswered points to blow past the Thundering Herd (3-2, 1-1) on Friday night.
Brent Stockstill eclipsed a major milestone in his career as he has now thrown for over 10,000 yards and added two passing touchdowns to bring himself to within 13 of 100 carer TD tosses. Stockstill also added a rushing touchdown for Middle Tennessee State.
Marshall rode Tyler King heavily in the first half as 138 of his career 165 yards came in the first half, but was not able to find the end zone. A big reason for his workload was that Alex Thomson was making his first career start/appearance in an FBS game. Thomson tossed two touchdowns, but was just 17-of-34 with an interception and was sacked six times.
The Blue Raiders head to FIU () next while the Thundering Herd head to Old Dominion ().
