The game of the week as the Red River Shootout lived up to its name with Texas (5-1, 3-0 Big 12) coming through with a late field goal to stun Oklahoma (5-1, 2-1).
The Longhorns looked to have the Sooners buried after the third quarter as Sam Ehlinger ran for two scores and threw for another to build up a 45-24 lead. Kyler Murray brought Oklahoma back in the fourth quarter as he first found Lee Morris for a 19-yard touchdown then scurried for 67 yards to the house to make it a seven point game.
The Sooners tied the contest with 2:38 to play as Trey Sermon ran in from seven yards out. Texas marched down the field and converted a big third and three that eventually led to a Cameron Dicker 40-yard field goal with nine seconds remaining. Oklahoma attempted a series of laterals, but the Longhorns were able to recover the loose ball and secured the upset.

Texas will return home to host Baylor (4-2, 2-1) while the Sooners will get an extra week to prepare for TCU. They'll need that extra week to figure out what they'll do on defense after firing defensive coordinator Mike Stoops.

Not nearly as exciting, the Mountaineers (5-0, 3-0 Big 12) cruised to an easy victory over Kansas (2-4, 0-3).
Will Grier had 332 yards passing and four touchdowns, but also threw three picks in the win. Leddie Brown added 107 yards on 11 carries with a touchdown for West Virginia.
Peyton Bender tossed two touchdowns for the Jayhawks, but Pooka Williams Jr. was bottled up for 65 yards.
West Virginia will have their hands full when they head to a upset minded Iowa State (2-3, 1-2). Kansas will take a week off in order to figure out how to stop the Texas Tech air raid.

Brock Purdy matched Taylor Cornelius shot for shot as they Cyclones weren't intimidated on the road to pull off the upset against the Cowboys.
The crazy thing is that unlike Cornelius, Purdy was not the starting quarterback on Saturday, but was given a series to play and led the Cyclones to their first scoring drive after falling behind 7-2. Purdy stayed on for the next drive and used his legs this time for a 29-yard touchdown. The Cowboys and Cyclones traded jabs back and forth for the remainder of the quarter until it was 30-21 Iowa State.
The second half was more of the same as Cornelius ran in from 1-yard out to close the lead, but Purdy was still clicking as he found Deshaunte Jones for a 23-yard touchdown. The punters finally got some action before a series of turnovers set up a Cyclones field goal and a Cowboys touchdown.
Iowa State delivered a knockout blow when Purdy connected with Tarique Milton for a 60-yard score and then converted the two-point try to make it a 13 point game. The Cowboys next two drives would end in an interception and a six play 96 yard drive that was capped by a 42-yard touchdown strike from Cornelius to Tylan Wallace. The Cyclones would recover the onside kick to pull off the upset.

The Cyclones return home and look to add West Virginia (5-0, 3-0) to their ranked wins while the Cowboys head to Kansas State (2-4, 0-3).

Just another wild finish in the Big 12 as it came down to another game winning field goal as the Bears (4-2, 2-1 Big 12) outlasted the Wildcats (2-4, 0-3).
Kansas State held a 14-12 lead going into the half, but that was quickly erased just 32 seconds into the second half as the Wildcats fumbled the kickoff and two plays later Jalen Hurd pounded it in from 1-yard out and added a two-point conversion. The two squads missed field goals on their next drives, but the Wildcats tied it up with a 48-yard Alex Barnes touchdown run, but had their PAT blocked.
Kansas State would retake the lead when it was Skylar Thompson's turn for a big play as he ran it in from 52 yards out. Baylor responded when Charlie Brewer hooked up with Denzel Mims for a 21-yard score. Thompson was picked off on the Wildcats next drive and the Bears turned it into points on a Craig Williams 21-yard touchdown run.
Not done yet, KSU rebounded when Thompson found Dalvin Warmack for a 28-yard touchdown with 4:26 left to play. Baylor took it down to the KSU 11-yard line where the lined up for the go ahead Connor Martin 29-yard field goal to pull ahead with eight seconds left. The Wildcats got off two plays, but were stalled at their own 48.

Baylor will host No. 9 Texas (5-1, 3-0) while Kansas State welcomes Oklahoma State (4-2, 1-2).
